Day 2 of EVIL EXPERIMENTS at the COFFIN HOP

Welcome to day two of the Coffin Hop!

The Candle and Mirror experiment from yesterday seemed a bit too scary for some, but a few braved it.

Humans wonder what happens after death...it is the one thing we can't study and gather empirical evidence about. Do our spirits continue? Do we HAVE spirits or a soul?

We also wonder if these spirits ever try to reach us or leave us messages.

For today's experiment you will need a candle and piece of paper.

Go into a darkened room and light the candle. Place candle on a flat surface, and run the piece of paper over the top of the flame. Do not stay in one place for too long because the paper may ignite, and you will have to run to the sink and douse it.

The candle will leave dark lines of soot made from carbon on the underside of the paper. This is a form of divination, or fortune telling. Some say the image left on the paper is a message from someone who passed away, some say it is a warning from beyond. It may look like a picture or it may look like a word or writing.

Here is mine:

I am not sure I want to analyze this picture too much. I can't see any words but I'm pretty sure I can make out an image...

I would love to know what you think of this image, and try to do Evil Experiment #2 at YOUR house.

Happy Hopping!!

  6. Yikes, really? As much as I would like to see what might happen, with my luck something bad would happen - and then it would stay! *laughs* It's bad enough that I'm reading these spooky posts of yours and watching the new Dracula tv show at the same time.
I'm sorry it's been forever since I've dropped by. Happy Coffin Hopping!

  8. I think I see the upper half of a face (eyes and eyebrows), a hand, and a small animal, like a dog, or possibly a fawn. So, not too bad. You didn't tell us what *you* saw, Pen.

I traveled for work most of October, and most of this past week, and would you believe no damned WiFi at my lame hotel??? Gah! I might've run out to buy a candle and tried this in my hotel room, if I could've. On the other hand, God knows what might've turned up in a room where thousands have slept...
